Difference between Denim &  Jeans

Denim is a sturdy cotton warp-faced textile in which the weft passes under two or more warp threads. This twill weaving produces a diagonal ribbing that distinguishes it from cotton duck.

Jeans is one type of garment, which is normally used by the all aged people today. For the first time, jeans garments introduced by Levi Strauss as a copper riveted cotton trouser in the second half of the 19th century.

1	Denim is one kinds of fabric name which can be made from 100% cotton twill or Stretch twill.	Jeans is one type of garment which is made by using denim fabric.
2	Denim is a fashionable fabric, by which different types of garments style can be produced.	Jeans is only a particular style of garments.
3	Denim can be defined either jackets, skirts, pants, shorts etc.	Jeans is specially defined at denim pants.
4	Denim is used not only for making pants but also for jackets, skirts, shorts etc.	Jeans is such type of garments which is made only from denim fabric.
5	All denims are not jeans.	All jeans are denim.

Today jeans have achieved too much popularity among the people due to its wearing comfort ability. Jeans is such types of garments which can be used by any aged people at any situation. BASIC KNITTING ELEMENT OF KNITTING:

1. Needle

Needle:

It is the first knitting elements. Needle is a hooked metal parts
which is used to make a loop.

There are three types of needles:

A. Latch needle
B. Bearded needle and
C. Compound needle.

Latch needle:

The needle consists of six main parts:
Stem – Used to hold the course of old loops.
Hook –The hook is used to catch a thread and form loops.
Rivet – Holds the latch in place and allows it to pivot.
Latch – The latch combines the task performed by the presser bar and the beard of the bearded needle.
Butt – The butt enables the movement of the needle to be controlled by a cam mechanism. A track
raises and lowers the needle.
Tail – Used to provide support to the needle.

Types of Knitting:

There are two types of knitting

a. Warp Knitting.
b. Weft Knitting.

Warp Knitting:
In warp knitting, one or two yarn produce vertical column of loops and fabric is produced in
length way. Each loop in the horizontal direction is made from a different thread and the no
of threads used to produce such a fabric is at least equal to the number of loops in horizontal
raw. e.g. – Net, Mesh fabric etc
